I know it breaks your heart when your little is sick. Especially when it feels like their is nothing we can do to help them feel better.
They are completely helpless and 100% depended on you.
Which makes your job, a lot more difficult. As if you needed one moooore thing added to your plate, right?
At the sign of my kids feeling sick, I go into full on overwhelm mode. Or, at least I used to.
Trying to juggle all the tasks that come with sick kids WHILE meeting their needs and comforting them is challenging and exhausting.
I see you broken hearted that they are feeling yucky
I see you stripping beds and rewatching everything they touch, just to help keep things at bay.
I see you disinfecting all the surfaces, including light switches and door knobs, because you KNOW their hands have been all over those
I see you looking at the clock wondering if this day could go any slower
I see you CHERISHING the moments of snuggling them but praying that you don’t catch the germs either because if YOU get sick, you won’t be able to take a paid sick day
I see you in overwhelm mode, scrambling to get all the thing to try and help them. Thank God for instant cart, right?!
I see you glancing in the mirror as you wash yourself hand, thinking “wow, I should probably get cleaned up” - but then a little voice beckons your name
I see you tired and exhausted because you were up all night comforting your little one.
